Tomorrow, Friday 19 September, a park that will be a new landmark for Glyfada opens! At the end of Gounari, next to the tennis courts, in the area of Aixoni, a new small miracle has been created !
“We are proud to present our new park in Aixoni!
What does a city need today?
Parks. Green. Breaths. Dew. Oxygen. Places for children to play safely, for young people to play sports, for older people to spend their leisure time”, stresses the Mayor of Glyfada George Papanikolaou.
He adds:
“We built something more in Ano Glyfada:
A new landmark for our city.
Which opens its gates on Friday for everyone!
In the area of Aixoni, at the end of Gounari, next to the tennis courts, there was an area of more than ten acres. Unused.
It took a lot of effort and methodical work to be used, to be a redevelopment with the highest standards of aesthetics, safety and functionality.
To become a brand new infrastructure, on a large scale.
We did it! And we are very proud of it.
Green everywhere, a lush space (we added thousands of new plants and large trees to the existing pine trees).
Tennis courts for children.
Small football field.
Areas for play and sports. Pumptrack for bikes and skateboards.
Walking routes.
Gym equipment for older people. Children’s playground.
“Smart” benches and recreational areas.
Lighting with photovoltaics.
And several other innovations that are worth seeing in person.
In the new park of Aixoni everyone can now find what suits them for their leisure time and play and enjoy as much and as much as they want.
A new sports and recreation facility, funded by our City’s resources and a portion from the Green Fund.
It was worth all the effort and effort it took to complete this project.
Most of us want our children to wean themselves off their phones, TVs and tablets and get out with their friends, company or family.
In Glyfada we give us another opportunity, another way out, another possibility, to make this a reality.
