Air quality monitoring

The Municipality of Glyfada, placing the health of its citizens and environmental protection as top priorities, has partnered with the National Observatory of Athens (NOA) to install four modern stations for measuring PM2.5 particulate matter. These stations are part of the Panhellenic research infrastructure PANAKEA network, while a Smart Hub (infokiosk bench) was installed as part of the innovative FAIRCITY network.

With the strategic placement of the sensors for the optimal coverage of the city – while giving preventive emphasis on the areas near the under construction project of the Hellenic Metropolis – the aim is to ensure the continuous and reliable monitoring of air pollution levels, ensuring compliance with the regulatory limits for the benefit of the local community.

At the same time, an additional station of the Ministry of Environment and Energy has been installed and operates in Evrialis Park, strengthening the overall monitoring network of air pollution indicators in the area.

The Municipality of Glyfada is committed to continue similar actions and initiatives, always having as a non-negotiable guideline the interests, health and quality of life of the residents.
