Allocation of Parking Spaces for People with Disabilities
With this service, the interested party submits the application to the Parking Concession Committee of the Municipality of Glyfada, accompanied by the following required documents:
Copy of the beneficiary’s Identity Card
Certificate from KEPA indicating the percentage and type of disability
Proof of residential address (e.g. utility bill or solemn declaration)
Copy of the vehicle registration certificate (must belong to the beneficiary or to first-degree relatives or spouses living at the same address).
– If transport is carried out by a relative, a solemn declaration from the driver must be submitted, stating that he/she is responsible for the transportation of the beneficiary.
A copy of the property ownership contract, lease agreement, or a recent E9 form
Solemn declaration stating that the beneficiary does not have access to a parking space in a lawned area, pilotis, enclosed garage, or uncovered part of the residence
Optional:
– Valid disabled parking permit (its issuance falls under P.D. 241/2005 and is handled by the competent department of the Transport and Communications Sector of the Regional Authorities)
Note:
The concession is valid only for the duration of the KEPA certificate. When it expires, a new valid certificate must be submitted; otherwise, the allocated parking space will be revoked.
If the KEPA certificate is marked as permanent (valid for life), then every three (3) years the holder must confirm in writing that all submitted documents remain valid and that the allocated space is still needed.
A. ELIGIBLE OWNERS
The following persons are entitled to a disabled parking space, as defined by the legal provisions below:
Law 490/76 Article 1 (Government Gazette 331 A’):
– Disabled Greek immigrants and foreign workers with mobility impairments due to the nature of their disability.Law 1798/88 Article 16 (Government Gazette 166 A’):
– Disabled Greek citizens with:
A) Complete paralysis of the lower or upper limbs, or bilateral amputation
B) Severe mobility impairments:One or both lower limbs with a total disability rate of at least 67%
Motor disability of one or both upper limbs, with a total disability of at least 67%, of which at least 40% concerns one lower limb
C) Total blindness in both eyes with a disability rate of 100%
Law 1882/90 Article 23 (Government Gazette 43 A’):
– Disabled Greek citizens with:
A) Mental retardation with IQ below 40% or autism with seizures
B) Mental retardation or organic psychosyndrome, with disability rate ≥ 67%, and inability to work
C) Thalassemia patients
D) End-stage renal failure
E) Hemophilia sufferersLaw 2227/94 (Government Gazette 129 A’):
– Disabled citizens of EU Member States who fall under the categories described in points 2 and 3 above.
