Community Centre
Community Centres are structures designed by the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Social Solidarity. They were established in municipalities and are funded by the NSRF 2014-2020.
The Community Centre is the first point of contact between citizens and the social services of each municipality. From there, citizens are informed about all the benefits to which they are entitled, as well as all the institutions, services, and programmes that provide social care in any form, at the level of the Municipality, the Region, or the territory.
The aim is to develop a local reference point for the reception, service, and connection of citizens with all social programs and services implemented in the area of the Municipality of Glyfada.
The Community Centre of the Municipality of Glyfada, which is supervised by the social service of the municipality, has been operating since 1/11/2017 and provides the following services:
A) Reception – Information – Support for citizens
B) Cooperation with Services and Structures
C) Provision of services aimed at improving living standards and ensuring the social inclusion of beneficiaries.
The Community Centre is open to all residents of the Municipality of Glyfada who are facing a social problem themselves or members of their family (such as unemployment, financial hardship, lack of housing, or living difficulties due to disability or old age).
Through referrals, the Community Centre connects beneficiaries with individual institutions and services (local authorities, public services, voluntary organisations, social organisations, etc.) to meet their needs.
At the same time, counselling services and the organisation of local events with educational, informative, and social content are provided.
The facility is located at 34 Karaiskaki Street & Tsitsanis. The building is accessible by public transport (near a bus stop), private vehicles, and is accessible to people with disabilities.
The Community Centre of the Municipality of Glyfada is staffed by four (4) Social Workers and three (3) Psychologists.
