Short description
The operation concerns the completion of the construction and complete configuration of a special school (kindergarten and primary school) for children on the autism and mental retardation spectrum, as well as its auxiliary rooms, the landscaping of the surrounding area and the supply of all the necessary equipment.
The project is being implemented on the plot of land defined by the streets Sophia Vembo, Londou and Saki Karagiorgas, in the Municipality of Glyfada.
Objectives of the Act
Creation of a modern and model school unit for special education.
Meeting the increased educational needs of students with special learning needs.
Ensuring full accessibility and appropriate supporting infrastructure.
Upgrading the social and educational infrastructure of the Municipality.

The operation comprises two sub-projects:
Subproject 1: Construction of a special school
The building is developed on four levels and includes:
Level -1 (2.358,52 sq.m.)
Auditorium with foyer and auxiliary areas, gym, physiotherapy room, swimming pool with changing rooms and auxiliary areas, E/M facilities, storage rooms and parking spaces.
Level 0 (840,08 sq.m.)
Kindergarten and primary school classrooms with the corresponding auxiliary rooms.
Level +1 (800,00 sq.m.)
Classrooms for teaching and specialties (speech therapy, kinesiology, physiotherapy, psychological support).
Level +2
Planted roof and space for external E/M installations.
Total building surface: 3.998,60 sq.m.
Subproject 2: Equipment of Training Infrastructure
It includes the supply of all the necessary equipment for the full and proper operation of the school unit.
Expected Results
With the completion of the project, a fully functional, modern and accessible special education school unit will be delivered, essentially enhancing social cohesion and educational support for students with special needs in the Municipality of Glyfada.
