Free preventive cardiological check-up in Glyfada
Monday 29 September
9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
A free preventive cardiological check-up is organized by the Municipality of Glyfada (Department of Welfare, Social Policy and Gender Equality), on the initiative of Mayor George Papanikolaou, in cooperation with the Onassis Hospital, at the Old Town Hall of Glyfada (Saki Karagiorgas 2) on Monday 29 September, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
For the third consecutive year, the action is taking place on the occasion of World Heart Day (29 September).
The free cardiac screening lasts 15 minutes and includes blood pressure, blood sugar levels and cholesterol measurement.
A cardiovascular risk calculation is then performed based on a European Society of Cardiology programme. The process is completed with nursing advice on modifying risk factors according to the results of the measurement.
The action is coordinated by the Deputy Mayor of Social Care and Solidarity Eleni Karahou – Skoutari.
The aim of the action is to highlight the importance of prevention and to remind everyone how important it is not to neglect our health, which is our most valuable asset. Preventive cardiac screening helps in the early detection of heart symptoms and the treatment of possible diseases.
