Lecture on the Greek Musical Enlightenment at the Municipal Conservatory of Glyfada

“The Greek Musical Enlightenment beamed into the future…” is the topic of a lecture by the distinguished composer, musician and writer Giorgos Minas, at the Municipal Conservatory of Glyfada, next Thursday, October 30, at 7:30 p.m.
The lecture will include reference to:
📌 The environment in which the Greek Musical Enlightenment developed
📌 The European cultural spirit, which is diffused in 19th century Greece
📌 Kapodistrias, Martellao, Korais, Manzoni, Mantzaros
📌 To the first music education centres and the musical expression of words in 19th century Greece
📌 To Mantzaros’ encounter with History
📌 To brief aesthetic approaches to the poetry and music of the “Hymn to Freedom”
📌 To the starting point of the “Greek Enlightenment” and Musical Aesthetics.
Entrance is free for all. It would be very useful for such a lecture to be attended by as many students as possible from our Glyfada high schools.
