“The Demographic Problem in Simple Terms” at the Municipal Free Open University
What do we need to know about demography today? What are the causes of this phenomenon? What will be its main consequences? And what measures can we take to mitigate them?
In the scientific lecture of next Monday, December 8, at the Municipal Free Open University (DEAP) of Glyfada, the Professor of Demography of the Department of Planning, Urban and Regional Development Engineering of the University of Thessaly, Director of the Institute of Demographic Research and Studies, Mr. Byron Kotzamanis will explain the basic dimensions of the demographic problem in Greece and in the world, in simple words.
From 2011 onwards, Greece’s population has been gradually decreasing. According to all projections, this decline will continue in the future. At the same time, all developed countries in the world are facing demographic challenges (although not all with the same intensity).
What do we need to know about demography today? What are the causes of the phenomenon, what are the dynamics, the trends and what are the forecasts for its evolution? What will be its main consequences for our society and economy? And what measures can we take to mitigate them?
