Opening time : 20:30

In Philoctetes, Sophocles dramatizes a fraud operation, which is organized by Odysseus and undertaken by Neoptolemos, the young son of Achilles. The two men arrive in uninhabited Lemnos, on the edge, at the very heart of the Cosmos, where the Achaeans had abandoned Philoctetes for ten years, wounded by an unhealed plague. Their mission is to steal Philoctetes’ famous bow,
because without it the fall of Troy is impossible. “I hate the time I live in. Dark years. I don’t want my life like this.”
Giorgos Kimoulis, Dimitris Gotsopoulos and Thodoris Katsafados, produced by Christos Tripodis’ company Methexis and in collaboration with the D.P.E.T.E.T.E. of Agrinio, present the summer season throughout Greece and Cyprus
