The Municipality of Glyfada and the Glyfada Health Centre against childhood obesity! On Tuesday 9 September, from 8:00 in the morning until 1:00 at noon, free body measurements will be carried out at the Glyfada Health Centre (in the corner building located at 73 Cyprus and 13 Pandora Street) and instructions will be given to children and their guardians by the experienced paediatrician of Glyfada Health Centre, the person in charge of the event, Androniki Anastasiou.

The prevalence of childhood obesity has increased worldwide and is an increasing public health problem. According to the World Health Organization, more than 124 million children and adolescents aged 5 to 18 years suffer from obesity. This will affect future generations as childhood and adolescent obesity is associated with many comorbidities in adulthood.

Let’s not let childhood obesity become the new normal! It is up to us to give our children a beautiful and healthy future!

The coordination of all the events of the Glyfada Health Centre is the Scientific Officer of the Health Centre, general practitioner Irini Karagiaouri, an active member of the municipal party “Our Glyfada”.
