Free WiFi Hotspots

The Municipality of Glyfada continues to expand its free wireless network throughout the city as part of its digital services development strategy and remains at the forefront of innovation. An extensive network of free wireless internet access is now available in public areas, municipal buildings, parks, squares, playgrounds, major shopping streets, and other key locations, for the convenience of residents, visitors, and tourists.

By connecting municipal buildings and open public spaces at high speeds, the Municipality enables citizens—especially those who cannot afford internet access—to benefit from next-generation connectivity while on the move and in areas where internet access is essential.

This initiative aligns with one of the key development pillars of the European Commission’s Digital Single Market strategy, which promotes internet connectivity for citizens and businesses.

By the end of 2025, sixteen (16) additional wireless internet access points (WiFi hotspots) will be installed in public areas—such as gathering places, travel and waiting areas, event venues, and points of tourist and cultural interest—under the co-funded project “WiFi4GR – Development of Public Wireless Broadband Internet Access Points”.
