The energy upgrade of the Town Hall at 15 Alsos Street will be achieved entirely with European funding, which will be transformed into a building with practically zero energy consumption!
Financially this will translate into a drastic reduction in bills. The money saved will be returned to the city through actions and projects!
“This is really great news for our city”, stresses the Mayor of Glyfada George Papanikolaou. And explains:
“We have secured European funding of 4.5 million euros for the energy upgrade of Glyfada Town Hall!
After almost thirty years since its construction, our Town Hall building is being radically changed, with a great project exclusively funded by the European Union!
This major project will shield the building energetically, upgrade its infrastructure and bring multiple benefits:

We save very significant amounts of money every year on our energy bills (cooling and heating). The money we save is transferred to new actions and projects in our city!

How will the energy upgrade be done?
With a radical, in-depth renovation that includes:
Installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof.
New, modern cooling-heating systems.
Placement of thermoprotection.
Replacement of windows and glass surfaces with energy technology.
Replacement of luminaires with LED technology.
Ventilation system with heat recovery and much more!
