KAPI
The Open Protection Centres for the Elderly ( KAPI ) are a social institution serving the elderly of the Municipality. Their purpose is to provide medico-social protection to older people so that they remain active within the family and community.
Membership of the Open Protection Centres for the Elderly is open to men and women aged 60 and over who live in the area where the Centre operates, without discrimination based on economic means. The number of members of each centre cannot exceed 300 members or be fewer than 50. This number refers to active participants, not just registered members.
Services provided
Persons protected by the Centre are provided with:
– Social work for themselves and their immediate environment,
– Physiotherapy,
– Occupational therapy,
– Home help for people who live alone or for those who have special service needs inside and outside the home,
– Care and guidance for medical and hospital care,
– Organised leisure,
– A lounge which has a canteen offering drinks, refreshments, etc., where members find companionship and engagement.
In the Municipality of Glyfada the Central KAPI is located in Ag. Tryphon
