The Glyfada Municipal Library is located within the Glyfada Interschool Centre, at 30 Agia Triados and Epaminondas Street. It features a reading room with 20 seats, 14,000 volumes of books and periodicals, a specially designed computer room for study and research, and free internet access.

The aim of the Glyfada Municipal Library is to promote knowledge, information, education, and culture without political, religious, racial, or any other discrimination. It functions as an information centre that ensures users have access to knowledge and information, while enhancing readership and all kinds of related educational and cultural activities.

Within the framework of reconfiguring the Glyfada Municipal Library’s activities and programs, adult programs are planned — including a Literature Club, Writing Workshop, Parents’ School — as well as book presentations, creative activities for children, and talks aimed at informing, raising awareness, and fostering understanding of issues that concern us all. The schedule of these activities is announced at the end of each month on this website and on the Public Library’s social media page.

In its effort to develop constructive dialogue with the educational community of the city, the Glyfada Municipal Library organizes programs and activities aimed at continuous communication between schools and the Library. These programs are designed for school classes of all educational levels (Primary, Secondary, High School) and are created by Library staff in cooperation with the teachers of participating classes, to be tailored and meet the cognitive level of the students as well as the educational and pedagogical goals of the teachers. Indicatively, the programs offered include:

  • Getting to know the Library: For all grades and levels.

  • Literacy: For all primary school grades. This program combines storytelling with visual education.

  • Book research paper: For 4th grade to 3rd grade of secondary school. This program aims to introduce and guide children in searching, finding, and processing library material for a research project of their choice.

  • Educational games and activities: For 1st to 6th grade. The game is used as a tool to aid the learning process. Cooperation with teachers is essential for designing and implementing these programs.
