



With every solemnity and with the established parade, the National Anniversary of October 28, 1940 will be celebrated this year in Glyfada.
From the day after tomorrow, Sunday, October 26, at 8:00 in the morning until sunset on Tuesday, October 28, there will be a general flag-raising in our city.
During the evening hours of 27 and 28 October all municipal and public shops and banks will be lit up.
On the day of the anniversary of “OXI” there will be joyful bell ringing in all the churches of the city.
At 10:00 a.m. on October 28th, an official ceremony will be held at the Holy Church of Saint Tryphon Terpsithea, presided over by His Eminence Bishop of Glyfada, Elliniko, Voula, Vouliagmeni and Vari, Mr. Antonios, in the presence of the municipal, political and military authorities, teachers, collective bodies and the people of the city.
The solemn speech of the day will be delivered by the Director of the 3rd General High School of Glyfada, Mrs Athina Gritzala, in the Church.
A memorial service and wreath laying will follow at the Heroes’ Monument (Agios Tryphon Square).
At 11.30 a.m. the parade will start (starting point: G. Gennimata & Gortynia).
