In the area of Aixoni, at the end of Gounari, next to the tennis courts, in an area of more than 10 acres, there is a fairytale park.
Green everywhere, with thousands of new plants and large trees. Tennis courts for children. Small football field. Areas for play and sports. Pumptrack for bikes and skateboards. Walking routes. Gym equipment for older people. Children’s playground. “Smart” benches and recreational areas. Lighting with photovoltaics.
This past weekend was the first weekend of the park’s operation. And it was a blast! The Mayor of Glyfada, George Papanikolaou, was there with his children. In a post, he wrote:
“Everything we do for children comes back many times over with love. On Friday we delivered to our children and to all the residents and visitors of Glyfada, a huge, lush park in Aixoni, with games, recreational and sports areas and much more. And they gave us back their smiles, their laughter, their enthusiasm. Wonderful moments for our city and for all of us.
