Following today’s announcement of the Public Markets Operation Body, the Municipality of Glyfada informs that the Public Market of next Thursday, June 19, 2025, which is held in our city, will not take place.
This decision was taken by the Public Markets Authority, as the transfer of the market to a new location has not yet been approved.
The relocation of the market is imperative, as in its old location, in front of the Town Hall on Alsos Street, the works for the construction of the underground parking lot and the Esplanade have begun. This makes it impossible for the market to operate at this location.
Despite the timely suggestions of the Municipality, in cooperation with the representatives of the People’s Market, for its relocation to the seaside road of Diadochou Pavlos, the relevant bodies (Traffic Police and the Region of Attica) have not yet given their approval.
Efforts to find a solution are continuing at an intensive pace.
