The Municipality of Glyfada honours the International Grandparents’ Day with actions

Today is International Day of the Third Age – Grandparents’ Day – and the Municipality of Glyfada honours it in the best way!

Last Sunday, September 28th, the first excursion group started for Kamena Vourla and today our elderly citizens, who enjoy a dreamy stay there, are visiting Lihadonisia.

A total of four six-day excursions (until Saturday 18 October) will be held at the well-known five-star hotel of the beautiful small town of Fthiotida, with all the comforts and facilities, including breakfast, lunch and dinner, with unique evenings full of music and dancing (from waltzes to zebec, Cretan, island and the great hits that were heard in the discotheques of the ´60s, ´70s, ´80s) in the indoor hall and in the outdoor area with the swimming pool.

The well-structured programme this year includes excursions to the Holy Monastery of Panagia Damasta, the Holy Monastery of Panagia Eleousa Xiniada Domokos, the Holy Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Saviour (St. Vlasiou) in Stilis, Lihadonisia and Gorgopotamos.

The Mayor of Glyfada, George Papanikolaou, this year, again with much love and care, has curated this program, which gives great joy to the members of the KAPI and helps to strengthen relations between them. The six-day excursions are one of the top activities of the Municipality of Glyfada, they build relationships, create friendships, compose golden memories and become a point of reference for everyone.

“We are doing our best for our parents this year, it is a double pleasure for us to feel that they have a good time, they really enjoy these days and they look forward to this trip every year. We fill our lives with unique emotions. Our joy and satisfaction is immense and we are all grateful and touched. For the love we give and the love we receive. For the unique moments that we all live together”, stresses the Mayor of Glyfada George Papanikolaou, who established these excursions in which every year about 1,200 members of the six KAPHs of Glyfada participate.

The responsibility and coordination of the excursions is the Municipal Councillor for the KAPI Vassilis Nikakis, who is constantly next to our elderly citizens and takes care of everything they need, so that everything runs pleasantly through a wonderful organization.
