Open invitation to citizens

We join forces against the challenges of youth delinquency. The Local Council for the Prevention of Delinquency of the Municipality of Glyfada, established by the proposal of the Mayor of Glyfada George Papanikolaou and a decision of the Municipal Council, completes one year of operation and organizes the first open event to the public, entitled: “Building bridges: Preventing Youth Delinquency through Connection and Understanding”.
Having realised from the beginning that young people need support, this very important Council of our city decided to reach out to the school and educational community. Throughout this year a substantial networking effort was made and a number of prevention activities were carried out. Creating a connection and communication between those involved with young people is the most important step.
Having laid the foundations, the Local Council for the Prevention of Delinquency of the Municipality of Glyfada, therefore, extends an open invitation to all citizens, parents, grandparents, grandparents, teachers, caregivers, in order to create a safety net for our young people.
The event will take place TOMORROW, Friday, May 9th, 6:00 pm, at the Interschool Center of the Municipality of Glyfada (Epaminondas 30 or Agia Trias 9).
Speakers:
– Stavroula Tzatzanidou, Police Officer A’ Commander of the Department of Prosecution and Detection of Injuries of Glyfada.
– Title: ‘Youth delinquency and violence in the school environment’.
– Melina Charatsidou, Clinical Psychologist – Systemic Psychotherapist, Scientific Manager of the Glyfada Prevention Centre.
– Title: ‘Building bridges: Preventing Youth Offending through Connection and Understanding”.
– The event will include short presentations and an open discussion with the audience. The main objective is for families, schools and the municipality to join forces and work together to protect our young people.
– Because prevention starts with knowledge, cooperation and everyone’s voice.
